[Engine] crankshaft sensor??

2006 berlingo multispace 1.6 hdi, has anyone changed a crankshaft sensor? if so how did you get at it? underneath? from top?what parts did take off? its on top of the gearbox. Any help,advice or comment would be welcome thanks.

Remove battery and battery tray for access

The Crankshaft sensor is fitted behind the Crankshaft pulley on the 1.6HDI engine.  Huh

Thanks jj9, but in the book post 2002 models it's on top of the transmission, on mine I can see the can see the wire and the plug and using a mirror see the sensor, just need better access to change it

On my 2006 Hdi 1.6 there is a crank sensor adjacent to the crankshaft pulley - I removed / refitted it when doing the timing belt a few months back so can say it is there with confidence ...............................

Every diagram I've ever seen of the 1.6 HDI shows the Crankshaft sensor behind the pulley.
