Mine had a worn gear lever knob top cover, the "chrome" bit with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc on it. It spoiled the look of the interiour and the flaking bits of chrome felt funny on your hand. I thought I had to replace the entire knob, but then discovered that you can buy just the plastic "cap" for just £3.29 including shipping

It simply pops off with the aid of my Swiss Army knife blade, so 15 seconds to replace it

Mine is the blue colour one but I can't tell what colour the one on the listing is.

It is Chrome, well "Chrome look", in fact, the way it comes off on mine in tiny hard flakes, it might be actual metal, just very thin.
Is your car an M59? or the later model, I thought all M59s had Chrome gear knob tops, but I could easily be wrong

Mine is a 2004.
I will have to check. I thought it was metallic blue, but perhaps the top is metallic and the knob itself is blue, I can't remember.
