Black out / Tints for rear windows.
#1
There are a couple of old threads on this, but they are likely out of date, so I'm starting a new one Wink

Spring is just around the corner so my thoughts are moving towards the modest camping conversion I will be doing. No full on boot jumps, but a bed and cupboard, covered in thin black cord carpet, that I've got all ready Smile

So to the windows, thin black curtain would be cosy, but I'm not sure it can be fitted neatly and easily and without eating into the space available.

What alternatives do you know of ?

p.s. = I don't need or want full blackout or silver thermal type thingies.
Regards to all,
John - (2005 2.0HDi with Modutop roof, mini camper).

My 2007 Desire Modutop is fitted with a Boot camp and we have dark tinted windows which to me is better as people can't see in and you can see out

It's not an issue. .....looks very black from the outside but not nearly so from the inside!

like those tints.
I just got limo tints done on my berlingo last Saturday, they let in 5% daylight, and cost me £130 ,from b pillar back only,
was told its illegal to tint front windows as they have to let in 75% daylight ,and standard windows let in 86% daylight most manufactures vehicles.

Limo tint, I think it was 8 quid from ebay Smile

Pretty ok after a lot of looking at youtube ! Afternoons work and only a few tiny blemishes.

just nipping out, I'll expand later !

OK, looking back thro ebay it was Dark Smoke 20% and it cost 10.49
(http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANTI-SCRATCH-P...Sw~gRV5q3u)

I also bought a squeegee
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Conquerer-PRO-...41aec22029

Side windows ware easy, wet with soapy fluid on outside, apply film and cut to size. Then wet inside, strip backing and apply on inside, (aye, on the wet surface), Use squgee to smooth.

BAck window was harder because of the curve....Need to use a heatgun to gently stretch and ease out wrinkles (on outside of glass). Then wet, peel and apply on inside.

Here is a pic from earlier in my build

Not a great pic, but shows tinted sides from inside.....
