Aux line and activating this option
#1
Hi,

I have a basic Smile Smile Smile model Berlingo with no Aux lead or CD multi changer.  I have added a lead to the back of the head unit but need to activate the Aux mode in the cars ECU.

I have read on another forum about how to do this and although a bit fiddlely didn't seem too bad.  In a bout of over exuberance I got the MPPS ECU flasher form Ebay and started looking into plugging it in.  The software that came with the dongle had ECU data for a 2.0 HDI Bosch EDC15C2 K-line, I'm not sure that's what I have in my 1.6 HDI.

A little more research then noted that I could seriously damage my ECU by using MPPS flashers!!!!

I'm thinking more that I should just be settled with listening to radio and CD

Has anyone done this activation themselves?  I bought an ebay item that came with AMT-Cartech software v 12.0.0.6

I have a friend who used this on his BMW with no issues, although his ECU showed correctly and he hadn't read of ECU destroying MPPS's

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Chris

Personally I would leave the ECU alone, I am not adventurous enough to try anything like that. Fry the ECU and it’s a LOT of money to replace it.

Hi Bigblues,

I believe activating aux can only be done with the genuine / copy lexia adapter and software, I have this equipment and want to activate aux so I can use a connects2 Bluetooth box but I haven't bought the connects2 unit yet or been brave enough to do it yet.
If / when I do get to it I will post my experiences.

It's the bravery part that gets me, like the chap above said, get it wrong and it's £££££

I think with the unit you have allows you to upload your car's ECU map and then you can send it off to a firm that will modify it then return the modified map for you to upload to your ecu, they say they can modify for economy or power output and or removal of dpf and other emmisions kit.
I don't know how well any of these functions work or if it is able to do anything else .

For edc16 , your car, MPPS is not good !

For edc16 the best is Galleto v54 and not over OBD. Better go BDM flash.

It was certainly mean of Citroen to provide the ability to connect AUX then charge a fortune for the software change (and leads, although these can be bought cheaply elsewhere).

I would have liked to connect my mp3 player on the Berlingo but in the end just kept a few CDs handy instead.

My Picasso has Apple Carplay which is a world apart in terms of ease of use and integration, I would hope that the replacement Berlingo has it.

My radio plays mp3 music burned in CDs. it is not the aux line, but it is not as bad as only playing audio cds...

activations of aux inlets can only be achieved using lexia software and interface...
