Wow thats a blast from the past "NSR500"
Anyway check the front coil springs first - the coils can break and are sometimes not that easy to spot.
Then go for rear shockers - disconnect and try in the zone the work in most of the time. If all that is okay then go for the rear torsion bars - you may have a broken one or lazy one. They can be adjusted but i have seen them with a lean before but its very rare.

It sounds like a torsion bar broke

When my front spring broke it made no difference to the height of the car but it made a horrible noise when you tried to steer right or left.
So where does this bit go then ?

Haha yes it's nsr500 as in the Honda nsr500 Grand Prix two stoke and Rossi as is valentino ?
Thanks for the advice ..the van is not lower on any one corner ..it's pretty even front and rear and the rear wheel is not leaning in
Not clonking or grinding noises ..drives fine ..just when going over speed bumps it seems how you say ..uneven

probably had one spring replaced due to snappage and left the saggy old one on the otherside.

I spoke to a mechanic friend and he said the same ..one spring replaced and saggy old one Left ..makes sense ...maybe . I shall measure the distance from centre of wheel to arch at the front, if one side is higher than the other then I guess it's the spring as that would effect the rear ride height as well ..does that sound right
Cheers

The strength of the springs set the ride height , worn shock absorbers don't affect the ride height, just the amount of bounce in the springs.
