That key should work on the Berlingo, you need to check for a groove in the blade as it says in the ad.
The keys can only be programmed once to work on one car, so you cannot swap around as you seem to suggest.
If you have diagbox, then why not program it to start the car, it's easily done. Not sure if you can just make it open the doors electronically.
Obviously you will need to get it cut to match the original, most key places could do this for a few quid.

Ok cheers, are you saying once the lock and unlock buttons havr been programmed to any one vehicle then the key can never be used to lock or unlock another van or car?
I know I could use diagbox to program the transponder side of the key but does this also program the lock/unlock buttons as well, if not do you know how you do program them, all the guides seem to be for the 98 on vans.
When I bought a new case for my key I just removed the dowel pin and removed the blade part of the old key and fitted it to the new one.

Once the transponder is programmed in, then you switch the ignition on & hold the lock button for 10 seconds to program it in for the locking.
I don't think k it will work if the transponder is not programmed in 1st. Once it has been used on one car , iam sure it can't be swapped to another .
The sequence for the B9 berlingo is the same as for the older vans & all other psa vehicles.

Ok cheers Mark, do you know if any of the B9s came without the remote locking and only had a basic key, if they are 99% equiped for cruise then I would have thought they are all equiped for remote locking. The van my friend has is a 2010 "10" plate one and he has only ever had one key for it - the basic one.

I can confirm that a key once programmed cant be programmed to another vehicle or at least needs to be done via diagbox with the transponder etc. I tried to program my existing key to my mates van by switching his ignition on with his key and holding the lock button on my key close by. I did think it worked at first but it turns out it was just my van parked right behind that was making the locking noise.
I think he has ordered a new door lock/handle or something at a cost of £130 and then needs to get it fitted, ignoring my advice of spending £18 on a new key and seeing if we can program it in, so there you go.
