Anemic horn
#21
Not sure on the legality of air horns nowadays with MOT and road regulations etc, when I was a lad (a long long time ago) had a set wired up on my old Escort mk11.

They were also wired through the door switches to a crude alarm system using a latching relay and unless you disconnected the battery or knew where the switch was you could not switch them off. Could hear them up to 3/4 mile away on a good day and saved my old motor from being nicked a couple of times. If you weren't expecting them you would probably die of a heart attack or Sh*t yourself!!!

Mine has passed 3 mot's with those horns fitted.

The Stebel Magnum is a good alternative to the Nautilus. It´s only a little quieter than the Nautilus but a lot smaller and doesn´t need to be wired to a separate relay - just swap it for your original horn. They´re about £14 from Halfrauds.

I have a Magnum on my motorbike ( oem motorbike horns are completely useless), and it´s LOUD! I forgot ( ) to warn the MOT tester about it and he nearly pooped in his pants when he pressed the horn button Big Grin:lol:Big Grin

Air horns are no problem as such, it is only the old musical type ones that are illegal on a vehicle registered after ( I think ) 1973
