Heavy clutch!

just wondering what could be issue on my clutch, its heavy as hell, squeeky and is on the verge of making my kneecap implode, i read the search index and have a few ideas but my symptoms are-
full range of motion and no play, really heavy to press and squeeky with it.
I drive a mk2 berlingo van and the clutch is light as a feather and have driven allsorts over the years and never had a clutch this heavy so it cant be just the (norm)!
I dont wanna have to fork out for a new clutch, could it be the cable? the pressure plate wearing down? any ideas before i trad it in for a lovely van instead!:S

? title says heavy clutch? thats the problem, my works mk2 van is light and fab, my mk2 multispace is heavy and crappy!

Mine is the same, and getting worse - my thigh is like Popeye´s forearm!!! Local Citroen specialists said it was the clutch itself and would need to be replaced. Mine has also started to judder a little when setting off too.

Had heavy clutch on my multispace, changed at 70,000 after a life of towing, now nice and light.

my vans a 1.9 diesel and really pokey, the 1.6 feels so heavy in comparison and the 1.6 petrol engine feels quite slow to me, its ok i spose from the lights but 50 to 70 seems to take ages with my foot flat to the floor.

When was it last serviced? What MPG? It could be as simple as a dirty air filter/fuel filter.Check the easy bits first,it helps to keep the bills down.Good luck,let us know how you get on.

Mine's a 2004 2ltr HDI - The cluch is as heavy as hell and all ways has been, its the one thing that really spoils it

The 1.6 petrol has hardly any torque, especially compared to your diesel, and I find needs to be revved quite hard to get it to shift. Mine also has a stiff clutch which I think is more to do with the cable than the clutch mechanism.
