Rear door arm things
#1
The things that stop the rear doors opening too far is the best way to desrcibe them. I dont have one on the left hand door (the biggest). The bar bit is there what you can unhook the door from to open it further but its all loose. When I removed the internal panel to see what the problem was there was nothing there, just the other end of the arm thing floating about.

What is it meant to attach to so it slides in and out, at the moment if you hook it to the door it just jams up and stops the door shutting and if you leave it unhooked sooner or later the door is going to swing wide open and either take out a car/cyclist or pedestrian.

Thats the sort of thing but thats of an earlier model, the ones on the B9 are integral, more like the staps that are on front doors of cars etc.

I don't know about the later modes. It seems a new door check strap is required. Take the panel off again , the broken part may be lying in the bottom of the door .
The (old type) front ones were secured by two nuts , don't know if it applies to the newer ones. When overstressed, the arm broke instead of distorting the door frame.
