Power steering failure
#1
Good day,

I have a Citroen Berlingo 2008 vintage 75hp Tdi. Very happy with it. However the seal on the hydraulic pump for the power steering failed, depositing the liquid on the alternator and the road. So far so normal.  The garage cannot locate a spare pump, nor can I here in Spain. (we are talking 2nd hand). Question, since the van is still driveable, albeit a bit heavy on the steering what is to stop me living with heavy steering and would I need to disconnect anything?

Why not just renew the oil seal on the pump?

Would it pass the next mot ,i think in Spain its every 2 years isnt it.? Pumps are very common here in G.B. and im sure you would find a dealer/scrappy that would send you one if you pay upfront.Have a look at ebay.
