13/03/2017: THIS THREAD IS NOW INVALID: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BLOCK AD BLOCK ON THE SITE.
All,
As you may well be aware, all of our revenue which keeps the site running comes entirely from the adverts placed on our pages and donations from the community.
In total, there are usually between 2-3 adverts per page; 1 at the top, 1 in the footer at the bottom, and 1 in between posts within a thread (when the thread is long enough).
As from today, users who run Adblock on our pages will be prompted with an on screen notification message advising them to exclude this site from their Adblocker in order to continue to view our content.
I'm sure there will be mixed feelings on this across the community, but the adverts were placed in such a way to be non-obtrusive and few in number; and that will never change. There will be no additional adverts introduced on any pages. But as crucial as these ads are to keep this site running, I feel it necessary to take a small step like this.
The fantastic quality online resource I always hoped this site would be will always be free and available to all.
Please also note, this new filter is only requesting that BerlingoForum.com is added to your list of exclusions, not that AdBlock is turned off for all sites.
This thread will be closed.
