Hi There, will you accept a Partner?
#1
I have been browsing this forum long since I made the purchase of a 2011 Peugeot Partner Tepee Outdoor 1.6HDI 112, so I hope that I am welcome here.  I have found some great answers to numerous queries already.
Just a quick query, I have noticed that I seem to be averaging 45mpg from my car, driving alone unladen, and at 60mph most of the time.  Is my car poor on economy, and if so, is there anything that could improve it?

Hi and welcome Mr Engineer Wink

1.6hdi at a steady 60, 50 mpg would be average but i tend to get 45 to be honest it doesn't seem to matter how i drive my Berlingo in the winter that is what i get.

I have had more but that was summer fuel and driving like Miss Daisy and i did manage 55 mpg!

So in answer to your question i would say not to worry - you could try adding Millers Fuel additive that MAY give your a bit more mpg and it cant hurt to try.

Hi alwaysanengineer, of course you're welcome.

Oh I never thought of the additive, and it had only 55000 miles when I purchased it, with a couple of owners.  You never know how they drove it so it might need a bit of a good clean out - engine wise.
Thanks for the replies

I saw the title and thought this was dating spam like all the Russian ladies that want to meet me Big Grin Peugeot and Citroen are all the same apart from the badge from working on my niece's bus and our Berlingo but I think the Citroen is more economical because the badge is lighter or more ergonomic or something. Putting additives in fuel might help to clean things up but doing it all the time would be like paying more for your fuel, kind of defeating the object of the exercise.

P.S. Please don't take this seriously, I know I don't Wink At 55,000 it might still need running in and loosening up a bit.
So where does this bit go then ?

Well, it was either a lingo, or a limping lion, and unfortunately there were a few more lions to choose from at the time, and slightly better priced.  But I did think that Citroen added a few nicer features on their vehicle for the year, compared to the pug.

I did the same. Plenty of lower spec Berlingos about but any XTRs were a good thousand pounds more than the 'Outdoor' spec Pugs. I'd have preferred the Citroen, but not that much...
