Hello from Suffolk England
#1
Having bought a 1999 1.8 Automatic I'm now HUGELY regretting it [multiple issues] but want to stick with it because A/ I really like it, despite the fact it clearly hates me.
And B/ I'm stubborn ...................

Having done less than 200 miles it's now sat on the side of the road with a broken f/r spring, it slams it's shift 3rd to 4th and back down again, AND it has a weird "hunting" tickover problem come stalling problem when it feels like it..................

Question is cut my losses and scrap it or stick with it and sink money in?
Actually main question is what is trans fluid check procedure and what fluid does it take? [TBH that's just the first question!]
Thanks all,
W

Hello and welcome waldamar. Personally I'd scrap it. It will most probably be a black hole for ££.
