Annoying...
#1
I generally like my little Berlingo, but I find 2 things annoy me:

Why are the interior door grab handles nearer the front of the door than the back? It's not where your hand naturally falls and you have less control of the door when opening it - not ideal in crowded car parks.

Why are the interior lights connected? If I switch off the load space light because I've got the back doors open for a while and forget to switch it back on I've then got no front interior light when I open the door.

...and breathe!

I have to agree with you on the inside door handles, even in the B9 they are annoyingly further forward than I'd like, especially when it's windy.

I hadn't noticed that weird behaviour of the rear interior light, I'll have to try that and post back.

Here's another thing, if you wanted to add an led rear light inside (handy in the van version) then as soon as you hook it up, all rear interior lights (new and original) stay on permanently. Only when the original bulb is removed, does it work properly.

Measuring across what I thought would be the 12v main supply to the light, I find 8v, until switched on, or a led is connected in place of the bulb, then it goes to 12v. Why...

you can put leds on the 12v aux socket wires, the socket is live only when contact is on

They were supposed to work when the door is opened. I know the 12v socket can be used but its already powering my rear cameras. The BSI gets upset if LEDs are connected in parallel to the existing lights. Ratty was just commenting on why the rear light when switched off, blocks the front ones too - I haven't checked that on my B9.

The rear light does not control the front light, I always set the front one to doors open mode, and the rear one to OFF.

You are lucky to have only two gripes!!

I have my seat all the way back, and some, as I have long legs and I find the handles fine to reach.  Better for me would be a grab handle above the door. Cool

You have a B9 as I do, Ratty has an M59. Could be it was different. I can't remember that about mine, they were too long ago.

I must have had a brainstorm about the interior lights, I tried it this morning and the front one works normally with the rear one off ????

Old age perhaps? Lol! I know exactly what that feels like as it creeps up on me.

Could be worse, could be a 2004> caddy.... You need T-Rex arms to open and close the door and window in those!
