[Tires & Wheels] Tyre Recommendations
#1
Hi all,

My 2010 XTR 110PS is running 215/55-R16 H93 tyres that will need replacement within 6 months or so.

I'm looking for recommendations for good mid-range tyres,  I'm not over-fussed by 1-2 dB noise, or 1 - 2 mpg consumption, I'm looking for tyres that are safe (grip) with long-lasting wear properties. Obviously I don't want to spend more than I need to.

What are other people using? anyone know of any particular bargain tyres? or tyre suppliers?

Thank you,

Matt

Ive got Three A P606 tyres on, my 2nd set. Cant fault them for the money- yes, theyre not top of the range branded tyres, but i`m not driving a ferarri! they handle well in the wet and last about 10-15kk miles a time....

I always find http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/ competive. They are owned by National Tyres but prices are cheaper than direct from N/T. Buy online at price which includes fitting etc & tyres are delivered to National Tyres depot of your choice for fitting. I had Avons fitted on my previous XTR. They were ok & much cheaper than Michelin.

I have the auto gearbox "Airdream" on a 64-reg, so it has 15" wheels.  I found the factory Michelins (I think) quite noisy on some tarmac, so looked for quieter ones that are low rolling resistance, which are often competing requirements.  I settled on Dunlop BluResponse Sport, which were £79 each including fitting at National - order online, it costs less than driving in.

They're definitely quieter than the originals, I still get the same mpg.  Some reviews say they wear quickly, some don't.  It's too early for me to be able to say though.
Well i cant quite remember the mileage to be precise but maybe its better than 15k tbh, either way there still bloody good tyres for the money IMO.....

They look good for price.
I have found the michilins oe tyres very good as are all season tyres, but are expensive. I have found they are much better in snow than cheap tyres, but in reality how often do we drive in snow?
So will probably look at them when replacement required. Thanks.
