My 2009 Berlingo needs a new wiper stalk. The end bit that does the rear wiper selection has broken off and attempts to glue the spindle back on have not been successful.
It's hard to find replacement stalks on eBay, unless attached to a COM2000. So what I'm wondering is: can I get a COM2000 and remove the stalk, then fit the stalk to the car without removing my COM2000? Or do I have to replace the whole COM2000?

It's common fault. You need to disassemble com2000 and repair end where stalk enters unit.
You have tutorial on youtube.
If you are not DIY oriented than you need to buy new com2000 and replace the whole unit.

Sorry for the delay, have had a lot on.
The part number is 96662457XT. Is that the same as yours?

Mine is 96477544XT. I took the wiper end apart so I'm fairly sure it's intact. However there are at least 2 types of wiper stalk, one with a ribbon cable and one without, mine is the type with the cable. If you look for my posts about Cruise Control you'll see links to a video & pictures of both types.
Here's a shameless bit of advertising on my part, but it does tell the whole story, I'm happy to do a deal with a forum member:

Thanks for the information.
When I had a look at mine it seems clear that I can't just take the stalk off without first removing the whole COM2000 unit. And I've been looking at videos on COM2000 disassembly and there is a lot that can go wrong if I try to take it all apart to replace the actual lever. So I think the only realistic repair option is to replace the whole COM2000, and even then I'm wondering if it's worth the effort. The only thing I'm missing out on with the broken stalk is rear wipers and the button that changes the display in the centre console, so it's not a problem just to leave it as is for the rest of the car's life and if some future owner wants to fix it then they are welcome to give it a go.

If it's the spindle that the rear wiper switch rotates on that's broken then yes I think it's the whole arm or the whole COM2000. If you put up with it for a couple of years before deciding to sell, let me know a bit nearer the time & I might be interested. :-)

Not sure if this may help but there used to be a member on here who repaired comms 2000 units and he advertised on ebay. It may be this seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-DISPAT...SwnNBXZAqs
but I thought he lived over Yorkshire way but he may have moved.
Are we there yet?????
