[Engine] Head gasket kit quality
#1
Hi, I'm planning to rid off engine oil consumption problem and have seen a gasket kit set off ebay but the price is cheap and there is no indication of which brand the items are. Kindly check out the link herein for me and advice if they are any good. http://m.ebay.com/itm/220488122456?_mwBa...noapp=true

Best advice is to contact them and ask ....

SALES - 01924 451277 / 01924 51 00 00 - OPEN: MON-FRI -9.15AM - 5.00PM SATURDAY 9.30AM - 3.00PM SUNDAY CLOSED

They are a " Motor Factors " so should be ok .....

When you hear from them post up the makers name.

edit : just seen the Kenya location so perhaps the internet would be easier / cheaper than phoning.

Yes, I've emailed them requesting whether they are of oem quality and the brand name and the only response I got is that they are quality.

If you want peace of mind then fit " Elring " or " Payen " or " FAI "

Thanks Geoff, I've replied again requesting for the manufacturer/ brand of the kit and if I get no feedback I'll give it a miss. I'm off to misterauto.

Depending on where you buy / perhaps buy seperate, Febi make good head bolts.

Given your location, I would avoid this item. There's a chance it will be ok but then again maybe not. As you're not in the UK I doubt you'll have much in the way of consumer rights and returns will be expensive. Best to get a known brand item in this case IMHO.

Thanks. Will take your advice into account when I make final decision. Locally the items are not sold as a kit. Other than the head gasket, the other gaskets are normally not in stock. A quality HG costs around 40GBP, and quality bolts around 60GBP hence the
attractiveness of a deal of 54GBP for everything
