Central Locking on Van Doors
#1
Wink
Hi All,

I have a 2012 berlingo van with central locking but lately a few strange things are going on.

When I got the van I could -
1. Unlock the front doors with the key fob unlock button (3 button fob)
2. Unlock the side sliding door and back doors with the middle button on the fob
3. Unlock the back sliding door and back doors with the unlock button (beside window switchs) from inside the van.

So, messing around one day I decided to activate the auto lock function for the doors. That worked fine but now I cant unlock the sliding or back doors from inside.
I collect the kids from school and I have to switch off the van and take out the key and press the middle button to unlock the back door to get their bags in, very annoying !

I have switched off the auto lock, and thought it would go back to normal but it hasn't.

image below of the interior locking buttons.

one on right used to open back doors, does nothing now ??
one on left still opens front doors ok.

I cant even open the back doors with the fob unless the keys are out of the ignition.

Its all very strange.

So my question is how do I get it back to opening the sliding door and back dors from the interior button without getting the key out of the ignition and using the middle button.

I havnt got a model like yours but my first thought is it must have something to do with when you activated the auto locking function. Perhaps you have to hold the button down longer/shorter to activate/deactivate certain functions. Is there anything in the owners manual.
Are we there yet????? Huh

I have the auto lock deactivated now but the button on the left in the image does nothing. Held right hand button for a few seconds till I seen Auto Lock Deactivated on the led screen above radio.
I assumed the left hand button was for opening the doors to the load compartment (thought it used to do that anyway) and the other on the right for unlocking the 2 front doors.

Cant figure it out.

I discovered a lot of options regarding locking/unlocking doors with keyfob buttons/hardware buttons in the BSI using Lexia. I messed around with some definitions, and got my setup all screwed up, not opening properly/etc., like you describe. By reversing the options in the BSI, got everything back to normal.

maybe you have changed some of these options unintentionally, just by pushing the hardware buttons for some seconds, and now cannot revert the changes by doing the same again...I would try to contact someone with a Lexia interface for further investigation, or go to the dealer, to have them sort it out...

Maybe easiest thing to do first is a BSI reset

I already did a BSI reset to sort out problems I had with the horn going off after the doors were locked with the fob or the keys.
The auto door locking comes back on even after turning it off by holding the interior lock button for a few seconds. I'll have to get it turned off permanently when I get it plugged in.

The interior lock / unlock button works fine to unlock the back doors when auto lock is turned off so I hope the computer will turn it off for good.
