Accidentally discovered dash light dimmer?!

Whilst trying to change clock on my 2000 M49 I accidentally held the left dash button in whilst engine was running, and to my surprise the dash lighting went dim, then lighter again when I pressed it! Must be a hidden dash dimming feature?! Is it just mine which does this?

Yes they all do that.

If you have a button sticking out of the clocks press it and find out.

I've always liked that the trip mileage has the same end numbers as the main one, and it will mess up my mind if I reset the trip so they're different.  I admit my brain's weird!

There are two buttons, I'll tentatively try the left one.
