The manual car I did had a solid flywheel, Iam sure yours will too.if it Judders after fitment , it's likely to be a poor quality part ( the good ones are expensive) or fitting error.
The 1.6 gearbox can be a pig to fit, it's important to get the box straight in cleanly , if the box is allowed to hang on the splines at all whilst fitting, this can cause the judder.

Cheers Lighty,
I haven't done the clutch yet but I'm buying it today. Citroen said it was solid but I have heard some are Dual Mass, the mpv's are the dual mass i think, vans are solid. I'll get a flywheel too to be sure and the let my mechanic know to be careful fitting it.

The manual car had done 130000 and was still driving ok, just had a thrust bearing noise. As you can see the EGS car wouldn't have gone another 2 miles.
Considering the amount I have done, I would say the EGS car takes about 5.5 hours, and the manual about 3.5.
Would take a novice at least 2 hours longer, a man 25 yrs younger than me , maybe 1 hour less per car

Hi ya,
Thanks for the feedback. Is there any way of checking if my car has a solid flywheel?? The garage are hinting that it may require a new DMF ....but they are still checking Surely it would have been obvious what type of flywheel was fitted when the done the clutch?
Its 2012 Multispace, diesel, the low power one (68 ?)
I do trust these guys but I'm beginning to wonder if they are out of their depth on this job
Cheers

You could have looked it up yourself....
Post # 6 in the link below gives a link to a site.

On the B9 berlingos, only the ones with 6 gear semi-automatic gearbox have a dmf fitted...All the others are classic, solid flywheel.

So, an update on this.
After some gentle persuasion, the agreed that the judder was unacceptable. So box back out and check everything.
The flywheel was removed and skimmed, all reassembled and it's now fine.......

Big thanks to Lighty and 48pop for this post and the pdf.
Does anyone know a good garage in the south east of England that can do this kind of replacement?

Mark Lightfoot was a Citroen specialist who sadly passed away. His son still runs the garage in Ilkeston however, about 100 miles from Cambridge. Depends on whether that's too far for you to travel.
