2001 Berlingo/Peugeot 206 Radio interchangeability?
#1
HEEEEELLLPPP !!!

Needed.

Right guys, I had a problem with the Berlingos radio from day one, if you remember.

An aftermarket radio had been bodged in, which meant you needed to remove the face of the radio in order to turn off the dash lights, and he same in reverse at night, if you wanted the dash lights to work.

I have been offered the radio from a 2001 Peugeot 206 1.4 petrol, photo below.
It will come with a lump of the original wiring loom beyond the multi point plug, so hopefully my mate amartin can make some sense of the wiring, which is one of these modern systems that carries messages around and not just current. Yes, I have no clue.

Anyway, does anyone know if the radio is interchangeable??

I have done a Google search for 2001 Berlingo radios, and the photos that come up, looks the same as the Peugeot 206 unit.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Radio in 206.

Ive just done a quick search and as far as I can find out the 206 had a bsi unit so this may cause a problem with the security code. The radio will be coded to the chassis number of the car it came out of but your car I think is pre bsi unit so simple wiring. It should be feasible to wire it in and work if you compare wiring diagrams of the two cars but the security bit may stop you. If you can wipe this code or fool it some how you should get it to work.
Perhaps some one with more knowledge will come along who can help.
It may be easier to pick up a cheap after market radio in the end.
Just a thought have you got a remote stalk on the steering wheel?
Are we there yet????? Huh

Thanks.

Not seen a stalk, so guess not.

I am just looking for a simple fix, but this seems to be more complex than its worth.
