New £1 Coin
#1
Just acquired one of these bomb proof, tamper proof, anti fraud pieces of bi-metallic Dodecagon's  today in my change from the garage dated 2016
I see some selling on the Bay of Fleas for £200+
Is mine worth more than face value.... Smile what criteria makes them worth more??

Lots of crazy coins out there ...

I had one of the Peter Rabbit 50p coins - silver proof on eBay and it sold for just over £200 but it only cost £60 from the Royal Mint .... nuts isn't it !

Some are asking 250 400 850 even a grand - no longer available from the Mint and the last couple of days had a waiting list of 30 / 40 thousand people queuing just to get on their site.

Yes you have a very early minted coin because so many are going into circulation this year they started minting in 2016 so it's reasonably rare and collectors are paying in the upwards of £200 for the pleasure of owning one, hang on to it,in 10 years itll be worth a lot more ! It was your lucky day when you went to the garage well done.,these are lovely coins are they not.

First reports of fake £1s appearing in the dmail today, I think who's going to look for a minute hologram in every £1 coin that you get in change ? Just a gimmick ?

The wording around the inside rims sure is small, I needed a magnifying glass to read it.
I like them, there were lots of brass fakes of the old ones going around.

Guy selling one on ebay claiming it was worth £200, auction was "buy it now" at £100, or "best offer". For a laugh I made him an offer of £1 which he declined. My twisted sense of humour!

Some are already dropping to bits, Mainly the center parts are coming away from the outer.
Doubt these will last as long as the old one

I'm sure I have a dodgy one. I weighed it and it is far less then one pound.

Ha ha, love Solent's reply,
just to let you know these un-fakeable coins are already being faked, & as previously mentioned, are you going to check for holograms every time you recieve one ? Pound for pound, it's all mad,
