Which is easier? Dw8 to dw10 or to xud9
#1
Hi! Recently i've been thinking about swapping my mk1 berlingo engine into a turbo one, but some people tell me to put the mechanical 1.9td because 2.0 hdi is too much cablework , and others tell me to put a 2.0hdi since i already have a ECU... i should swap the engine ploom, the  gas pedal mecanism , the ECU and probably the box, but they told me the engine mounts are pretty straight forward. I honestly don't know which one i should put ( the only criteria is it being easy) can someone please tell me about it? Its a DW8 with ECU, not a mechanical XUD.

Which year is your Berlingo?
(In 2000 they added the BSI)
Which gearbox do you have?
Note that the flywheel sensor sits in a cutout on the bellhousing, so if the engines uses different sensors, you may be in for a bit of a bind. (This was an issue when I swapped 1.4i engines.)

It would, needing a new wiring loom and BSI would make it complicated and expensive. More sensible to buy a different model Berlingo.
So where does this bit go then ?

A common rail diesel with turbo is likely to need extra wiring & a different ECU / BSI. Lots of good price 2.0 HDi's for sale...
