Hi gents. Recently my aircon has stopped working. I had it regassed today and they fitted a new filler valve. But still not working. Usually when I press the button I hear a clunk and the revs drop. I was hoping that refilling would sort the problem. The garage said their is no leak when pressure tested and thought it could be the compressor. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks Chris.

Hi
There are two kinds of compressors that I know of , one type fitted to newer VWs, skodas etc don't have a clutch and don't "clunk" when operated and one which has
I don't have AC on my berlingo so don't know which is yours but if yours usually clunks then it must have a clutch, this clutch when disengaged stops the compressor spinning and saves wear and tear on the drive belts etc, when the AC is not wanted. This clutch sits on the compressor at the belt end and has a wire going in which works it. Worthwhile checking this wire is not damaged and check the fuses, the f 11 cabin fuse box and/or fuse D under the BSI (on mine anyway).
