Charge light
#1
This weekend, my car (2004 1.9D  DW8) shredded its auxilliary drive belt.  Changed the tensioner (been chattering for a while) and a new belt fitted, not a problem.  Now the question.  When the belt failed, power steering was lost but the charge light did not come on.  Investigating when I got home,  with the belt off, and no drive to the alternator, the charge light went off as usual when the engine was started.  Charge was OK before and with a new belt, seems to be OK now.  Theoretically impossible,  Any ideas out there?

Demonic possession ? See if it still works if you take the battery off.
So where does this bit go then ?

Just been to church and got some holy water.  Spayed the car with it, no screams or smoke so I guess demonic possession is out.  Does look a little cleaner though.
