[Steering & Suspension] ....and the other spring
#1
My 2010 110PS XTR was in for service and MOT today, dealer called me to inform that the O/S/F spring was broken (must have broken very near the bottom because it wasn't noticeable in driving), they said that Citroen advise to replace them in pairs. I advised them that another local  dealer had replaced the N/S/F spring (only) last year under extended warranty after a catastrophic failure. Citroen immediately gave the dealer the go-ahead to replace the O/S/F spring  and also gave the go-ahead to replace a worn suspension bush they'd picked up in MOT inspection, all covered under extended warranty. Citroen insisted that a genuine replacement spring be fitted so I'm without the car tonight and expect to get it back tomorrow.

So I'm paying for the service and MOT of course, and a wiper blade they said needed replacing, could have been so much more expensive.

I know that the extended warranty and roadside assistance are priced into the higher initial purchase price I paid for the vehicle at the dealer but my experience of both has been good.

Result Matt - how many miles has the vehicle done? Do you use the vehicle on mostly poor roads?

Mileage is 56k, and its always driven sympathetically but Essex roads, both local and main routes are pretty poor.

England, the only civilised country(they drink tea, so they qualify) with roads even approaching Norwegian standards...

I broke the Righthand side spring on mine during Xmas nearly a year and a half ago, at nearly 240K Kms. Unfortunately, it also damaged the wheel on that side.
(I cannot thank the workers at the Citroën shop at Jessheim too much for managing to not only find the time to fix it before I had to travel 400+Km home, but also sourced good winter tires also, even if they were pretty well booked and running a minimum staff)

The Dealer that replaced the first spring in your car sounds like a shop I'd stay away from.
Everything in the suspension and brakes MUST be replaced on both sides at the same time.
