[Filters & Oil] DV6 Engine - Service Kit
#1
Hi all.
I've scoured the forums and while there are a good few topics on one piece of the servicing of the DV6,
I can't seem to find anywhere where there is a reference to the parts used.

So far I've got that I need to use low SAPS 5W 30 Fully Synthetic Oil.
Check

The Fuel Filter appears to be different to the earlier model and is a metal cannister that you screw off of the mounting plate.
Has anyone got a part number for this?

I plan on ordering online, and part number are the only way to be sure to be sure, you get the right part.

The oil filter appears to be the same jobbie as was on the earlier vans, I haven't seen anything different anywhere else?
Correct me if I'm wrong!

The Air Filter is stuck right at the back of the engine but again, does anyone have a part number?
I've looked up online and there are a couple that are recommended for the van.
One long skinny job, similar to the older van's, and another one with a big rubber flange that extends beyond the paper for some reason?
Has anyone got a part number for that?

Thanks in advance for you help gents!

The air filter of the 8V motors (from 12/2011) is the one with the extended rubber flange...It is like this so it fits the new box, easier to open and close...

It can be confusing trying to decide which part to buy as there appears to be a number of choices to make, not comforting with distance buying.

I'd go to your local motor factors this time and keep the invoice / part numbers from the manufacturers so you are fixed up for next time.

Also when there ask them which engine type you have, ask for part number for timing belt kit at the same time so you are equipped for the future there too.

Thanks for the responses gents!
I might have to take your advice Geoff unless some kind soul pops on here before the weekend with the salient information,
I'll be off to the local Motor Factors and hope they've got the parts stocked!
Thanks again!

Thanks for the response!
You're a gem.
On my way home last week to service it - the clutch release bearing s**t itself.
So, that was not fun.
Thanks again
