One of my Berlingos has a problem were the car will start and run for few seconds and then dies. This can be repeted again and again but it wont keep running unless I spray start spray in the intake.
Any one got experience with a problem like this? Fuel pump or immobilizer are suspected
The car is 2007 Berlingo 1.4i
Ignition switch?Check you have a live feed when switch returns to the run position.

Hi,
When you switch the ignition on you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime the system - it's only for a few seconds. If you repeat the exercise and the system is still pressurised then it won't run the pump. When you then crank the engine the pump then runs continuously.
It sounds as though the pump is only running in priming mode - or might the safety switch have tripped (?) red button driver's side of engine bay. If you try re-setting the switch first to eliminate that, then disconnect the fuel supply connector from the fuel rail - squeeze two white clips and pull at the same time. With a jam jar to catch the fuel, and someone in the driver's seat, try priming, and then cranking, to see that you have fuel coming through when cranking.
If not then possibly fuel relay issue?

Oh, and before you pull off the fuel line, it may still be pressurised, so put a rag over the connector to catch any spray!

Unlikely to be the immobiliser as it wouldn't fire up at all - immobiliser issue stops the signal to the injectors so no fuel enters the engine ( pretty sure I'm right with this ).
Good call with the live feed Ron, the old faults still keep on coming up even after many decades .

Can you get access to a diag machine - sounds like the live data info would be invaluable

Sounds like a fuel starvation problem. As it's an injected engine I doubt it would start at all without some pressure to the injectors, so wonder if there's also another pump to get fuel from the tank or a blocked line? Has the fuel filter been inspected / changed? There's a Hanyes manual on here that may give some clues.
Go easy on the Easy Start, it can do damage if used too much.
