I have been ploughing through the Citroen "Maintenance and Guarantee Guide" to find out the interval for changing the fuel filer on my 2005 Berlingo 2.0 HDi. The Guide semms to have been printed in November 2003 and was issued to the first owner of the vehicle on 29 March 2005.
The individual pages for each ".......Routine Service: All Vehicles" includes the replacement of the Diesel Fuel Filter as a Standard Operation for TDi and HDi engines. In other words, it needs to be replaced at every Routine Service; for my Berlingo this would be annually or every 12,500 miles, whichever was sooner.
However, on page 14 of the Guide there is table showing the Standard Operations; this states that Replacement of the Diesel Fuel Filter in only a Standard Operation for TDi or HDi engines in a Citroen Relay.
On page 42 of the Guide is a list of the Standard Operations and this includes replacement of the Diesel Fuel Filter but only for TDi and HDi engines fitted to a Citroen Relay.
If the table and list are correct, replacement of the fuel filter on my Berlingo would be a General Operation carried out at an interval of 40,000 miles.
Has anyone asked Citroen about this discrepancy ?
I suspect that the individual Routine Service sheets are in error, but it would be reassuring to receive confirmation.
