Audio, yet again
#1
Music
I replaced the horrible speakers for a Pioneer set (ts-q171c). I also put a three layer Silent coat inside the door.

But the audio is still lacking a bit, and I am pretty sure the problem is the standard vdo radio. I do have a half decent radio somewhere (Also a Pioneer I think) with usb, bluetooth and all the bell and whistles, and I am now getting to the point of giving up the stalk controls and mf display for it.

But then I started reading arround and saw lots of people saying that allthough the connectors are ISO, the wiring isnt. And just plugging the radio in can blow the bsi. I couldnt really find any information on it, and the local car shop just laughed and told me they never hearred such a thing.

So can I just plug the new radio in? Or do I need some special wire harness or adapter?

And will the display still show the warnings like "Left door open" or will it turn into a glorified clock?

Sorry if it is a stupid question, I dont have much experience with car audio/ electronics and I really dont want to damage my car.

Found the radio, its a Pioneer mvh-x360bt (wont be using it as a carkit)

Further search learned me that I indeed need some sort of adapter as the Iso wiring in the berlingo/partner has three extra sensor data lines going through it.

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/ct20ct10...aptor.html

Is this the correct one? Would be awesome to at least get the thing working. Finding the harness needed for the stalk controls is of later concern (or does somebody know where to get it?)

EDIT:

I found this lead: https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects...order=DESC
Is that the same lead but with the stalk adapter attached to it? Or would i need to get both?

Hi Mission, sorry I am busy at the moment but you could look through my posts from beginning of last year as I think I helped someone with similar question and provided some part numbers. Let us know how you get on

Thanks! I couldnt find it, however I did find this thread:

https://www.berlingoforum.com/Thread-Aft...-kit-issue

There is no mention of wich lead was used but there was the mentioning of a misbehaving connects2 lead wich somehow started to work again.

I have send a email to connects2 regarding their lead but so far they did not respond yet. I am tempted to order the lead as it is pretty cheap and 2003 is pretty far back, if the lead wasnt working or faulty then why would company's still sell it?

Hi Mission, check this thread to see if it has any relevant information for you. I put some details of part numbers in there at some point too.

Thanks! I have a much older rd3 radio, so the parts named in this thread wont work for me. Interesting read though

Ah silly me I didn't notice it was a mark 2. You could try going through the connects2 wedsite and filling out their car search forms to get a list that fits your car; or you can just give them a call to advise on the part/s numbers required. Once you have the part numbers you can shop around too

Didnt get a hold of Connects2. Went ahead and ordered the following:

Connects2 CTSPG006

Connects2 CT27AA01

My van did worry me a bit, I did found three cut wires on the wireclamps of the ISO wiring. But sinds my original radio and display are working fine I have no idea what the wires were for. (Also I found two long yellow wires wich were connected to nothing behind the dash)

I will report my findings when the lead arrives and I get to install everything. (Propably will take a while, shipping was so darn expansive, I choose the standard mail instead of express)
