A Peugeot dealer told me that a newer version of the 1.6hdi engine was introduced in 2011 and that its a much better robust engine , Bit confused as i thought they were all the same DV6 engines ?

the change was from 16 valve (dv6ted4) to 8 valves motors (dv6c), and it was an overall improvement, where most known problems were tackled.

Yes Luis but the main problem with the 16v engines were:
Incorrect oil specked when launched 10w40 semi - not good with 12500 mile services.
Injectors were loose from factory - tighten them from new no problems.

the 16v have a DMF the 8v only have one in the semi auto models, manuals have a solid flywheel i believe 2011 onwards.

Did the earlier 16 valve engines get both the revised banjo bolt and tightened injectors at any point ?
