Can anyone help me positively identify a replacement thermostat for a 54 plate 2.0HDi? It's consistently running a little cool so I suspect the current one is sticking open a bit. Should be an easy job to replace, but the Haynes manual suggests the system needs draining, which I don't want to do twice (once to ID the part and again when I've got hold of it).
Even ECP gives two options when I put my reg in.

The only way to be sure is to get both options and take the one back - sometimes this is the only way to be sure.
You will lose some coolant from the head only and will have to bleed the system because it may air lock when you top the coolant back up.
The thermostat housing is made out of plastic and are known to go hard and brittle so dont be surprised if it breaks, i suspect a dealer only part.
