I know alot of people complain about the recessed sump plug in the 1.6 HDI me Included but it saved my bacon today! Caught the sump badly down a beaten track done a fair bit of damage would of been a disaster if the plug wasn't recessed.

Out of interest do you have the engine bay undertray fitted ?

No engine undertray fitted on my van unfortunately.

Ah ok, mine has one it is plastic but will take lot of abuse if needed I reckon.
