[Engine] Foam in coolant
#1
Hi all,

I'm on the last lap with the dw8 engine as 2.0hdi conversion kit is on the way. Today morning I started the engine from cold with the coolant cap off and I noticed air being discharged into the coolant box through the degassing pipe from the engine along with a little coolant hence some foaming.

The level did not change and when I unscrewed the bleeding cap there was no air.

what could this mean?

I hope my engine is not giving in before kit arrives- perhaps in protest.

your input needed. Thanks.

Coolant cap separated yesterday inner part got left on the tank when unscrewing. I've covered hundreds of km's since noticing the foaming at the cost of frequent coolant and oil topups. Will change cap today and cross my fingers all will be well till the hdi kit arrives.
