I've been using it for a couple of months...noticed great performance. But in back of my mind, I remember problems with a new Shell Fuel in the 1980's.

My memory fades when it comes to 1980's specifics but I've not heard of any Shell issues in the modern age.
Such an issue would be well discussed via internet forums as they love conspircy theories - absence conspicuous by the deafening silence.

I've used nothing but Shell V-Power Diesel from new and it works great. Probably has different names in different countries.

Yes Shell did have a problem in the 80's with petrol but all sorted now.

All the major fuel brands are decent now, if you recall, there was a bit of a scandal about 10 yrs ago with water content in fuel (petrol & diesel) that caused engine problems (usually turbo related), this has all been sorted by the major brands testing the fuels at source before it's delivered to their forecourt tanks. I know this to be true as i have a good mate who delivers fuel to various reputable brand garages/forecourts. Not sure if this good practice goes on with the discount fuel retailers/supermarkets, but stick to Shell/BP/Esso etc and you will be fine.
to add a caveat to this, I got my Berlingo Van new in 2015 and 95% of my fuel has been bought from the Asda Forecourt at the top of my street, and I've had no problems whatsoever. :-)
