hi everyone! ive just bought my first car, a 2.0hdi berlingo 2003, lovely car/van, im just trying to get the central locking working, here goes:
- day one, the key fob is fooked, buttons broken, in car display says driver door is open, button on dash doesnt lock car.
- we found that cutting a green wire stops the signal being sent to the car to tell it that the door is open, button on dash now locks all doors apart from driver door.
-i use the key to unlock the door, turn ignition on and then use the dash button to unlock all other doors (revers process to lock the car)
- i have fixed the key fob with one of those £5 kits off ebay, key fob doesnt do anything, no flashing indicators, no locks actuating!
so my next step is to fix the door signal issue on the driver door, somehow find the switch (in the lock?) and then reconnect the signal wire,
then i spose the next step is to find out if the key fob is sending a signal? and whether the car is receiving the signal? that all seems a bit hard to do with standard tools doesnt it? haha cheers, joe
