Yeah should do, so glad the engine hasn't failed as I bought it based on its near mint bodywork for a 16yr old van and low mileage at 86000, you never know maybe the best part of 100k left in It judging by most people's experiences of the n/a engine

Yes the n/a engine is a good one and lasts really well even with local chugging around ( just give more oil changes if so doing ) and the Berlingo is pretty damn reliable anyway so a win win I'd say.
Best advice I can give you is to stay on top of / be proactive with the maintenance and you won't go far wrong.
Don't defer doing any work that is needed, I amongst a few other here work on the basis of a well maintained vehicle is cheap to run - privelidge of grey hairs.
Have fun and enjoy your wagon should be a lot of fun coming down the line.
edit : typically a Berlingo doesn't rust so that mint body should defy the time barrier.

My other car is a 1978 series 3 land rover 109 and has been my daily driver for the last 2 years so I'm well used to the essential nature of routine and preventative maintenance ?

You are well tuned in already then ..... a natural so to speak !
I've been a Land Rover fan for many decades now and currently use an 86" 1955
I had a 1958 2 Litre petrol Series 2 for a daily driver for around 15 years and then went to a 2a 2.25 petrol for much the same time period ... lapse of maybe 8 years followed and then I got my sanity back.....
The 2 Litre was reasonable on fuel but the 2.25 needed a petrol bowser in permanent tow ( tongue in cheek ! )
