[Engine] 2004 2.0HDi Limp mode but no eml
#1
I'm guessing this has something to do with all the rain I drove through yesterday, but wondered if there are any pointers about what's possibly been wrong. The car drove fine when I first started this morning but after stopping for about 2 minutes it would not go above about 2500 rpm which I'm guessing means limp mode. The Cruise Control would also not work. But no Stop light or EML at any time.
After reaching where I was headed to, I left the car for about 2 hours. Then, armed with my cheapo OBD tool I checked for faults, none found and what's more the engine was now running fine. I have Lexia at home and hopefully I'll find a stored fault code, but just in case there's nothing I thought I'd ask if anyone else had this?

Odd one that let us know what the Lexia says - remember to have a look at the live data

Seems that the Lexia fault log is full last entry was at about 50k KM (currently at 112k Miles), so the latest faults are not being stored. Is there a way to clear the stored / historical fault log? I couldn't see an option to do that but have never used Lexia before so may have missed the correct procedure.

Thanks

When you clear engine ECU faults with lexia they are saved in one part of ECU memory used only for that.
You can only save fixed number of clear faults for history, after that you clear faults but they are not
saved for future reference. That does not mean ECU is not storing new faults. ECU is always storing faults in
memory. History faults is needed for dealer to confirm that nothing fishy is going on with car.
You can delete engine ECU faults history with some special tools but again who would believe that  car has 50kkm and not one fault
in history.
You can clear engine ECU faults with cheap OBD, and that clear is not saved in history
