What can I do mechanically to my 1.9D to disable it when I go on holiday, On my previous car, a Corsa, I would remove the adjuster on the clutch cable.

Slip off the clutch cable at gearbox end - quick and easy.
Remove the quick fit fuel pipe to the filter unit - very quick but you'd need to bleed it afterwards.
Is disconnecting the battery too simple ?
Pull off a multiplug eg BSI and leave it looking like it is in place.
Memory tells me there is a wire going to the pump somewhere unclipping this stops the engine, sorry canot be more clear without looking at the book.

Thanks for the response Geoff, good ideas, I was trying to stay away from the electrics with it being a bit French.

You're welcome but remember don't update this thread with your eventual method of choice !!
Heres another for you with only a cable tie needed - on the pump you have the manual stop lever so use a cable tie to hold it hard over to the stop position, car will never start and rectified with a snip from a cutters.
Use a black cable tie rather than white so it is less visible.
