Hi all,
I have recently purchased a 2011 multispace 1.6 hdi and am now having some issues with it. It keeps throwing up an engine fault. I have scanned it with torque pro on my phone and it gives me the current fault as p2564 turbocharger boost control position sensor circuit low and today it went into limp mode.
The car has been serviced every 10k and is now high mileage but did drive really well.
Any ideas on what this fault relates to? Would it just be a faulty boost solenoid? Or worse a turbo problem?
Thanks,
Barry.

Hi Barry and welcome.
I would start with the simple things like turbo trunking (check for leaks) check the turbo impeller shaft for excessive play.
It could be the boost solenoid or even the pipework, it could also be the EGR valve.

Thank you for the reply. Having had a good look at the turbo the actuator seems to be very sooty compared to our DS3. The cables look good albeit sooty as well. Am going to try blanking the egr to see if that improves performance.

The turbo on this model has a sensor on top of the wastegate. It's purpose as far as I can tell is to send information to the ecu, letting the ecu know what position the wastegate is in . When it fails , you get this boost position sensor fault.
I fitted one a week or so ago , my local parts hub had sold about 340 of them in 2016 & 180,ish so far this year.
They cost about £180 ish and are simple to fit, but you really need Diagbox to reinitialise the settings.

Thank you for the comments. I cleaned the soot of the actuator and the cable/plug and cleared the fault code and it seems to be going well now for a couple of hundred miles.
