Possibly a leaking heater matrix. Have a search as there are a number of posts on the issue. BTW, welcome to the forum.

If it has a slight curry smell its usually a leak of coolant from the heater matrix or piping to it. Have a search on the forum as 3rensho says as there is a tutorial with pictures on how to change the matrix.
Are we there yet?????

Many Berlingos have a slightly leaky heater core and will happily go on for lots of years like that so you could consider leaving it and then monitoring the situation for any developments, it is just a thought based on experience though it may get shot down in flames.
Leking heaters don't usually fail catastrophically as far as I'm aware.

Looks scared, but not too bad , probably a bit beyond your average diy owner though.
