Upgrading Head Unit on 09 Berlingo
#1
Music
Hi

New forum member here after having my Berlingo for a week.

I'm replacing my RD4 with a pioneer mvh-x580dab. What parts do I need to enable the steering controls and the display in the citroen to function correctly? Is it just the CTSCT003.2? Anything I'm missing?

I know there are lots of similar threads but I can't seem to find the answers!

Many thanks

Ok got the answer so thought I'd post it here for others:

"Thank you for your enquiry.

To retain steering controls for your vehicle you would need the CTSCT003.2 unless your vehicle is equipped with OEM (original) parking sensors. I will link it below

http://www.connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/CTSCT003.2

or if you want the interface with the built in aerial adaptor you can use the CTSCT003.2AA, i will link it below

http://www.connects2.com/Product/Product...SCT003.2AA

You will also need a patch lead, for Pioneer you can use either the CTPIONEERLEAD or the CTMULTILEAD.2

You will also need an aerial adaptor if you are not using the CTSCT003.2AA, for your radio you can use the CT27AA14, i will link it below. It may be worth while checking the back of the OEM (original) radio to confirm that you only have one aerial / fakra connector on your radio.

Hope this helps"

That was from connects2. I also asked dynamic sounds who were also help and posted this which I'll order:

"Ok to complete the install you will also need antenna adapter

so buy the following kit:

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/citroen-...12920.html

Plus add free patch lead from the menu."

I am curious to know if you can still change the clock settings, as they were normally done using the old head unit. Are you able to use the steering wheel controls for this?

Just an update on this. I've semi fitted the unit (still got to route the DAB cable etc) but it's all working as it should. The kit I mention above was basically plug and play and made the stereo really easy to instal. I can't get the analogue radio to work at the moment but I'll probably not use it as it has DAB now anyway. There is one cable that I can't quite figure out at the moment.

I can still use the stering controls to change the car display settings. There's a combination of buttons to press on the stick control but I won't use them much anyway. I can also change the radio controls with them so it's working great.

Still waiting for the new door speakers but I'm hoping they'll just swap out using the old cables.
