front seats
#1
Converting a 52 plate van into a camper.

Photos to follow when I can work out how to reduce the size of them.

Have just adjusted the front drivers seat to get it to fold forward to the steering wheel giving an extra 17 cm on the bed!

Not sure if anyone else has managed this but I just cut a small section from each side of the seat! photos to follow when I work out how to reduce the size!

(24-09-2017, 06:48 PM)Am not the best with technology i\ll figure it out sooner or later and smash some pics up!The metal part is pretty easy to see. I cut a section about 5mm by 4cm but I think I could have got away with less. My bed now measures 6'4''.Another thing ...if you have the multispace would make sense to swap the winding knobs from the inside to the outside of the seat and swap the blank over. They're a pain to get off but having the knob on the outside makes it a piece of cake to turn rather than on the inside !!!!Bob Barringer Wrote:  Watching with interest

OK, I've done the cut out and managed to get the knob off from the recliner mechanism, anyone remember how to reverse the mechanism so you can adjust it from the outside?

Thanks.

Thanks for this. I followed the instructions, removing metal from both sides of both seats and reassembling. Super. Now have room for a 6’4” double bed.

I looked at reversing the rake adjustment to be on the outside of the seat but couldn’t really find a way to do it. I’ll wait for someone else to work it out.[Image: 34537c14b55aced552392f289a34d4ad.jpg]

i would make sure this work does not invalidate your insurance, I take it does not affect the seat belt orientation. I certainly would inform you insurance company what you have done; you don,t want them to use the subject to get out of a claim. Mine were unphased with me, at times, removing the rear three seats and putting a concertina type bed in; told me to park safely at all times overnight.
