sliding door panel removal
#1
I need to repair the lock on the sliding door on my 2010 Multispace as I can only open it from the inside.

So, how do you remove the inner door panel, so far I have removed the inner handle cover plate and removed the 3 retaining bolts and the small black screw at the top of the panel. Having forced the panel away at the side I can see a white stud that the panel slides onto but it looks like the whole panel needs to slide down to detach from them.

The white studs come out of the metal with the door panel, i.e. They don't slide off! To fit the door card you'd populate all the slide in holes with white clips and then push the door card on to the metal

Some of these studs are likely to break when you remove the trim, as they are made of plastic. You should have a set of new ones, so that you can replace the broken ones when refitting. It is a cheap and easy buy.

Job done! but what a pain removing the door panel. So, the fault was that the cable from the outer door handle had stretched and was not moving the catch release enough. As I could not see any way to adjust it I decided to shorten it by wrapping some wire around the lug in the end of the cable. As this worked I then encased it in some epoxy glue to stop it working loose and that was it.

I am trying to remove sliding door cover also on my Berlingo MK2 2018 (so last year of second generation).
And I am a bit stuck. I think i removed all bolts which you also mention. But i did not figure out yet how to remove the cover.

I found tutorials for front door, older and newer versions of Berlingo/partner/rifter. But not for MK2 rear sliding door. Examples:
https://www.scegliauto.com/en/video/citr.../tutorial/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfkeLdB5D7A

So far what I have done.
I removed from top the sun blinds (well might be unnecessary). I removed the plastic cover around the indoor handle to remove 3x torx size 30 screws (1.). And I removed one torx screw on the side of the door (2.). So now I do not know, is there any other screw hiding? And maybe the handle to pull the door (3.) from inside to close them might need to be removed, but I do not know how... Any additional tip to the ones already provided in this thread would be welcome.

Additionally, I was able to remove small part of the trim/cover/panel at the bottom, below the cable going from car to the door.

Now I have to remove the gray handle which is used to pull to close the door (part of it visible on image attached to previous post, number 3.).
Any tips on how to remove that would be helpful. I can get behind with the plastic tools for disassembly etc. Was trying do pull out the handle on multiple points, put it will not disconnect.

Only when I remove the handle, I will be able to remove the main trim finally.

And for anybody in future needing to remove the small bottom trim: I started on the right side (more to the front of the car). I had to pull out a bit the bottom small part of the trim together with bigger one as they are connected together. This is how I got little space, so I could push down a pin which disconnected the bottom small trim from the bigger one. Then I pulled panel on three locations where the studs are (2 broke, but of course I have replacement ones). Still the small bottom trim was connected to the big one on the left (so more to the back of the car). Here I struggled for some time, could not remove the small bottom trim. The trick was to rotate the small bottom trim: pivot around the point where small trim is still connected to the big one, rotating it down on the other side.

I have removed the sliding door trims in past. I don’t recall removing the ”pull to close handle” part needed. There should not be any fittings for the big panel under the top pull, IIRC.

thanks!

yes I also then actually bought handeys manual to get similar image as yours. So after doing all described above, I just started then to pull out the trim. And yes, it worked, also no need to remove the pull handle as you say. And it is useful to know the location of the studs with which the trim is connected to the door. Sometimes you really think you will break something Big Grin

So for me it was important to see the part number of the sliding door wiring loom part. So I could order spare one.
Now I will have to figure out how to uncover the part in the car floor where the sliding door wiring loom connects Big Grin
