Shouldn't be a problem. Mine did that when new last March. 100ps Multispace. I told service dept & they said noise should go away after a bit of mileage & after 8k miles it has almost. If I start engine with radio off & door open there is a slight noise that stops when clutch is floored. In normal circumstances it is not really noticable.

Yes I noticed it but apart that from everything is ok & noise reduced after 1k miles or so. Over 8k miles now half of that towing a 900kg caravan. If you listen very carefully there is always a different sound clutch in or out. It would depend what you call excessive. Mine is only noticable radio off & door open.

Obviously I can only go by what my dealer service says. Certainly if noise was excessive I would be bending their ears about it. They said other owners have mentioned this as well but Cit say no probs.

Presumably fault with Johnny's van is not release bearing from what he writes as it appears there is a fault in gearbox? Obviously not a good start but good luck to him & new gearbox should sort it.

That's why you have a warranty. With mass production there will be the odd defect. At least they're not trying to fob you off.Think positive.

Never had one make a noise before in 30 years of motoring,! And Citroen rang me theres tsb, bulitin, 5 gear syncro problem,so they have contacted Citroen asking for permission to order new gearbox, they can't order one until Citroen say OK,so vans back together and collecting in the morn, then just have to wait to see what Citroen say,? If they say ok ,van needs go back for new gearbox when ever gearbox arrives
