Double Din Radio Install
#1

Hi guys, I want to install a pioneer sph-da120 double din radio into my 2010 berlingo. Now I've seen some posts here about keeping the stalk volume etc controls working with the new radio via a patch lead but according to a Halfords Audo specialist it can not be done. Am I right in thinking it can? If so can anyone help in what connectors/leads I would need to swap out the original radio with this new one.

Any help is welcomed!

Thank you!

Well the Halfords specialist does not have much of a clue. I was able to go into Halfords and order the leads. The guy there was most helpful. Now I did find that when using the Control Pro Software box, and other adaptor leads, I was able to use the original audio stalk control with my Pioneer unit. However I was not able to change the display clock settings, as these were changed using the menu buttons on the original head unit. This might be due to the car needing to be set up differently in the Car's software - I am not sure.
I do know that others have used different control boxes and leads and have been able to use the audio stalk to change the clock time. So it is a case of checking before you buy. If the display clock is not a big issue, then you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the reply! Well he was adamant that it couldn't be done, but I was sure I read somewhere that people have done it. Tbh I'm not bothered about the clock as the time and date will be on the pioneer unit. As long as I can still use the indicator stalk button to check mpg/range etc then I'm happy.
Do you know what lead you bought to use? So I can then go into Halfords and have some sort of information as to what lead I'd need. These control box, are they plug and play or do you need to programme the software first before install?
Thank for you input ?

These were taken off my Halfords receipt. I am in Ireland, but the product codes will likely be the same.
285236 ControlPro SWC-Peu/CitQU
650465 AL PC5111 DinFacSOT Ant
The Control pro software box came with a couple of adaptors, which should let you away. The only other thing that I needed was a antenna adaptor as detailed above. With the Control Pro Box, you can reconfigure the audio stalk buttons to do different functions, but I just left them as standard. Also the right hand wiper stalk controls the trip computer functions regardless. The control pro box will only help wire up your audio stalk.
Also you need to be careful, as I struggled getting power to my head unit. You might find that you will have to patch a wire across, inspite of using the adaptors. I hope that it all works out for you.

No worries it is EASY.   take out your original 1 din player. Pop out the radio with the correct pins, og take out the storage pocket/place under the radio. and give the radio a push from the back, and it pops out.
Now you se a strut separating the old CD player and storage box.  Cut away this plastic strut.
Now you can put the 2 din player inn the dash. you may need a :   CT23PE01. to mount it.

Do you have original Reversing sensor that beeps in the cars speakers w
hen you put the car in R.
If yes use this cable:  CTSPG013
If No use this cable:  CTSPG0072

You also need a cable for the CD player you have.
CTSONYLEAD
CTALPINELEAD
CTASTEROIDLEAD3
CTBEATLEAD
CTBLAUPUNKT2LEAD
CTBLAUPUNKTLEAD
CTBOSSLEAD
CTCLARIONLEAD
CTJVC2LEAD
CTJVC3LEAD
CTKENWOODLEAD2
CTLGLEAD
CTMULTILEAD2
CTPHILIPSLEAD
CTPIONEERLEAD

Now you connect I.E
CTSPG0072 to the car and CD player.
ant the CD player lead to the remote or antenna power on the CD player and into the controll box on the CTSPG0072

I have a pioneer avhx 5800dab In my 08 berlingo and use CTSPG0072, CT23PE01 and CTPIONEERLEAD
