Hi, I recently replaced the throttle cable on my mk2 berlingo van,the new one was bought online, and came in kit form, cut to the same size as the old, and all seemed well(the inner cable is much thinner than the original) but im now finding it has no power whatsoever, could this be a problem related to the injector pump anyone any ideas as to what has gone wrong?

Have you adjusted out the free play in the cable ?
Pump ??? Why was there a power problem before - red herring in my book
I assume it is a 1.9D ?

All play adjusted from cable, no issues before fitting

Just a random thought ... some cheapo cables have an outer sheath that is poorly wound and will compress under load. The cable adjustment seems fine with no slack until a load is put on it, then the outer sheath contracts, taking away some of the inner cable movement.
Worth a check?

With the bonnet up and a helper pressing the accelerator pedal see if you can get full travel of the pump actuator lever. With foot to the floor then see if you can move the lever further by hand.

Really pleased to hear that. Great that you're now rolling normally again.
