Sorry to hear that, it looks nice .I am no expert on the smell of the oil so can not comment on that , the trouble is you do not know how it has been driven those 80000 miles could have been foot to the floor Stirling Moss miles or could have been Morgan Freeman driving miss daisy miles . I do not know if that mileage is low to a be having turbo problems but go with your head and not your heart .

By far the best course for you is to get £800 from the dealer direct. That's Eutopia - probably you'll end up with less, but as a starting point you've got a good case.
If you can't reach any agreement, then you're stuck with leaving the car, walking away and getting Trading Standards (or your solicitor) involved. But again, speed is of the essence.
However it plays out, hope you get a good solution.
Yes im hoping he will see reason, i do not want him or his "friend" to repair it, i want it repairing at a garage where he can't interfere with the process.
But i can't see that happening, it's already advertised on ebay, with the listing updated as of 3/10/2017 , i think he'll just sell it onto someone else.
end of the day it will cost him £5995 back to me, the seat repairing , the turbo sorting, and whatever else needs doing, re- valet, re -advertise.
Thanks all for your advice

Refund for me. He has had the opportunity to correct the faults. Which has a good summary of the trades description act. All the processes and options. It's horrible when that happens and the ignore you. Perseverance is key don't let them fob you off !!!

Great. But hassle you really don't need when buying.
Very pleased for you.

Glad you decided to get your money back and the dealer agreed. By the sounds of the problems, the car was not treated well even with a FSH and from what I've read on here a new turbo will probably mean you'll need another before too long. Broken seats, grinding brakes, oily turbo, best got rid of, move on etc.

I'm a bit of a bastard...
Here in Norway a car's license plates follow the car throughout its lifetime, so never changes. And we have a text messaging service where we can send a message 'REG xxyyyyy' to a pay service, and get some vitals back, such as the last MOT and current owner...
(When my previous Berlingo got scrapped, I verified that it was really scrapped and that the insurance company sold it off to a garage to do a half-assed rebuild and foist it off on some poor sod. )
Yeah, I'd be tempted to use this to follow the car until it gets a new owner, then call them and ask if they were told the car's history...

You can get your car's MOT history (free) by going to:
https://good-garage-guide.honestjohn.co....t-results/
and scroll down to the orange box with "Check your car's MOT history" and just put in your number plate. For mine it gave all the details (reasons for failure, advisories) from 2006-2017.

Yep, that's the first thing I do when looking at a new vehicle.
I tend to use the DVLA website:
https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history
You can check for insurance write off for free by putting the reg as if you're selling the vehicle into Gumtree or Autotrader.
And check if it's on the stolen register for free via:
https://isitnicked.com/customer/vehicle_search.php
