Always On Power Socket

I've been reading reviews on dash-cams and came across this comment in a (Techmoan) forum post: 

On Peugeot cars, at least on my 406 V6 and also the 307 Griffe, you can move fuse F1 one notch to give constant +12v on the cig. outlet if you wish, default is (as usual) only +12v via the ignition key.

I wondered if its possible to do something similar on my B9 Berlingo, can anyone advise please?

The easiest answer is to try it.
At worst, you will only blow a fuse.

I have a OBD2 Direct Link for my Dash Cam which also has a switch that I can turn it on or of as my cam has a parking mode that detects when to car has stopped and just takes one frame per sec in timelapse and then goes into normal if it detects movement hence the need for the power connection. its also handy if you change cars just plug it into the OBD socket

Not so easy on some models.

I have another car that needs a panel removing with a screwdriver before I can access the OBD socket, and the panel can't be refitted when any plug is connected. Fine for diagnostics but no good for a permanent connection.

A useful tip, but a dedicated live feed would be better for permanent use.

There is a  OBD2  Male to Female Socket Plug that you can buy Extn Lead   OBD2  there is a  USB Socket  with switch  ODB USB  
I did buy a nextbase hard wire kit (still have) but still  the problem of finding a good power point, felt  the OBD was the best solution

I use a OBD connector plug for when I need to disconnect my car battery without losing data or getting spikes on reconnection.

I sit a slave battery in the driver footwell, and with a couple of clips and a short length of twinflex I connect this battery into the OBD socket. Then I can remove the car battery without interrupting my normal supply.

On my early B9 there are a couple of unused fused live connections atop the battery. I am wiring a permanent live from one of these and fitting a twin outlet power socket in the car.

If and when I have to disconnect the battery I use a Car Memory Battery Saver Radio Code which plugs into the Cigar lighter and use its built in battery to keep memory I never thought about using the OBD. The funny thing was had to buy a new battery which was supplied and fitted by my dealer ( but paid for by the AA) after car would not start after not using for a few days, So never had to use it, but now my Stop-Start works now.

I should have made it clear that I use the slave battery/Obd port dodge on another car I own.
I have only had my B9 for a couple of months and have not yet needed to disconnect its battery.
