[Steering & Suspension] Drive shaft leak
#1
Hi, changed my passengers side ball joint today no major problem however the drive shaft came out a couple of inches and started to leak nice clean oil. Pushed it back in and thought the leak had stopped. Ball joint fitted and back together no problem. This evening I've seen oil leaking from the drive shaft, have I damaged a seal , just not put it back in far enough or what??
Any suggestions for a quick fix, mot retested booked for the morning!!
thanks Sad

It sounds like you may have damaged the oil seal or the shaft is not pushed fully home?

Just wash it off and have a good look, unless the MOT has changed oil leaks never came into class 4 MOT's.

Similar thing happened when I worked on the strut on my M59, the shaft popped out and damaged the seal on the way back in. ECP / CP4L sell the original seal, CP4L normally at a discount at weekends. Citroen have revised the seal to a slightly narrower seal than original, both probably work just as well.

CP4L Code is BLACK20 until midnight (20% off)

Forgot to mention that the best place I found the correct gearbox oil was GSF, this weekend they have 60% off code is BLACKFRIDAY.
